The work provides an inspirational sample of contemporary youth-oriented entrepreneurship by means of personal success. In the latest narrative essay collection The Love of Root River, Ye Mei embraces mountains and rivers, living spirits, and human beings with whole-hearted devotion, transcending worldly utilitarianism and narrowness. It shows the Chinese nation, me within you, and you within me as well as the unique living ethics, cultural values and dreams of all nationalities, expressing the author’s profound humanistic feelings. By writing about the beautiful and magnificent natural scenery of the motherland, she shows different national cultures, living conditions, spiritual qualities and unique life awarenesses. Her language is immersed in Shen Congwen’s timelessness, profundity and clarity, showing multi-ethnic history, culture and soulful thoughts. This is unique in contemporary prose creation.
